Steve Jobs has left the building

stevejobs

I find it kind of hard to write this post. Last night when I heard the news of Steve Jobs passing away the words just came to me naturally. Unfortunately it was really really late at night and I had to get up for my Italian class in a few hours. I suspect that the difficulty I am having with writing about this particular subject has something to do with the overload of media attention on the subject. Everywhere I look, it is Steve, even the people that made a hobby of bashing Apple … [Read more...]

Moving and all that jazz

Home Sweet Home by Steve Snodgrass

As you may have noticed, my website underwent a restyling! Well not really a restyling, more of a migration of my blog to my new hosting :) This also means that I will have to go through aaalll of my posts to make sure all of the images still work and the links and what more! And.. not to forget, one of the most important things.. redesigning the layout! no3w

So today is the 65th anniversary of the landings at Normandy. I watched the BBC broadcast today and have great respect for all that have fought and all that have died in WW2. A few years ago I went on vacation to Normandy and saw the more than 9000 white crosses of fallen U.S. soldiers in Colleville-sur-Mer. I must say it was pretty impressive. I also visited the local war museum and Arromanches. I realized that most of my peers do not know what happened at these beaches or just take it for … [Read more...]

McDonald’s spotted at Piccadilly Circus

McDonald's came up with a new way of getting a lot of attention for their brand. At Piccadilly Circus you can take pictures of yourself or your friends with the new McDonald's sign as a backdrop resulting in some pretty neat pics! There's a birthday cake with candles, a bowling hat, thought bubbles with hamburgers and what not, a hammer and more. Pretty clever if you ask me to make this campaign interactive by letting people take the pictures of their friends and family. These pictures probably … [Read more...]

When the rescue ship comes, I’ll tell ‘em:

You're stuck on an island with plenty of food, a companion, and a relatively stress-free lifestyle. What do you say when the rescue ship comes? "Wrong island, take a turn left, then right, go that way for an hour or two and you should see the island you were looking for" Of course I'm having the greatest time of my life on the island. Don't know how long I will be able to stay there without going crazy, but hey, for the time being! Maybe I should ask them to leave a life raft, it would provide a … [Read more...]
